Legal
What this website does with your data: no cookies, analytics only with your consent, and messages from the contact form stay on my server.

To deliver a page, the server receives what every browser sends: your IP address, the page you ask for, the time, and the name and version of your browser. The server uses your IP address to limit how many requests a single visitor can send in a short time, which protects the site from overload, and forgets the count afterwards. The servers and the proxy in front of them also write the requests to log files, which help to find faults and attacks. The log files are rotated and overwritten after a short time.
Fonts, pictures and icons all come from this server. Your browser loads nothing from other providers while you visit, unless you agree to the analytics. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in running the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
When you write to me through the contact form, I store your name, your email address, your message and the language of the page in the content management system of this website, which runs on my own server. Only I can read the messages. I use them only to answer your request and pass them on to no one. To prevent abuse, the server briefly counts how many messages come from one IP address; the IP address is not stored with the message.
I delete the message once your request is dealt with, unless the law requires me to keep it. The legal basis is preparing or performing a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and otherwise my legitimate interest in answering requests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
If you agree, the site counts visits with Plausible Analytics, which runs at analytics.dev.alpenstudios.com. Plausible uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device. From your IP address and your browser it computes an identifier that changes every day, so visits can be counted without recognising you. The IP address itself is not stored. What is recorded: the page, the page you came from, your browser, operating system, type of device and country. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
The site links to YouTube, GitHub, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and my projects. They are only links: the preview pictures of the videos are on this server, and no other provider learns of your visit before you click a link. After that, the privacy policy of the site you open applies.
The site sets no cookies. It remembers your choice in the consent bar in the local storage of your browser, under the name consent, until you change it. Change or withdraw your consent at any time with Privacy settings at the bottom of every page.
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its processing, to data portability and to object (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). You can withdraw a consent at any time, which does not affect what happened before. If you think the processing of your data breaks data protection law, you can complain to the Austrian data protection authority, the Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Wien, dsb.gv.at.
